Very miniscule protest because of lack of NPP participation, if NPP was in opposition, the protest would be huge regardless of the cause. That is how NPP works.

What is this post ? What is the definition of this post ? What job they do? What responsibilities they have ? What qualifications do they have ? Do they have degrees in development studies? What kind of development do they mean? Economic development, agricultural development, industrial development or social development? Technological and scientific development?

How many more jobs do SL public service need? Hasn't it got more than enough? Solution: NEVER EVER recruit people for non existent temp jobs as they will come back asking for permanency. Secondly, once they are permanent they will ask for never ending promotions, salary increases and what not. Over bloated SL public service is a mess. NPP is incapable of solving it as they are trying to please everyone.

For what school development officers.these are new to me. Major parties who ruled this country specially SLFP/SLPP would have created these new jobs to do their party work.

We need to look at these people's issues with empathy. The government has a responsibility of providing jobs to these people and single human beings could struggle finding a job without help. People should stop being selfish and heartless and we should help each other.

Very strange job title-School Development Officers- what exactly do these officers do on a daily basis other than gossip, read news papers, drink tea and leave office at 3:45 PM to catch the train. Can't this work be done by some of the existing staff without further burdening the tax payers
