Greed got you to this point. If it was too good a deal, you should have investigated why it was so. Higher dividends come with increased level of risk. Rule #1 of investing. Should you have made a 'killing' with the scheme, would you have paid income tax on it?

Greed for easy money got you there. Tax payers are not bound to compensate the money you lost to a con. Wait till the justice system finish with the case and delivers it's verdict. Choose to work for your money next time.

You may well have a point, but please remember He wasn’t the Governor!!?? He was assistant Governor WITH MUTED POWERS AND HIS HANDS "CUFFED"!? No possibility of taking independent action or even able to voice his concern!!?? These protestors are dumb and those supporting them are even worse!!?? Assistant Commander, doesn’t have same powers as Commander of the armed forces!! Only COMPLIANT POWERS – LIMITED!?

People never ask to pay the government or the taxpayer, the money should be paid by the individuals who received it, so people are fighting for it. Money has been freezer by the central bank as per my understanding, that's y pleple are in front of Central bank.

How can the Central Bank be held accountable for their stupidity? Rather ,they should make a complaint against the fraudsters at the police department. The government has warned against the so-called "Pyramid schemes" several times. Due to greed, they disregarded all of these warnings and are now protesting against CB. To be honest, they should have been arrested for engaging in unlawful fraud scheme and creating such a public nuisance. Wonder of Asia!

When the market / Bank rate was much less, your GREED took you all to ONMAX which was offering 30% or more. YOU should have used your common sense. The government or the CBSL DID NOT force you to deposit your money - they have always advised to not get cought.
Our public tax payer money cannot and should nOT be used to settle your GREED.

If you have surplus money, just invest in gold and keep quiet. No other scheme is more secure than gold. Pyramid schemes, Insurance Policies as investments are all scams. Interest on Bank Fds are deplorably low. Use your brains before investing your money.

Sorry for your lost money, but why would the Government compensate you using public funds? Say if you received those promised profits, would you have shared the profit with the Government?
Go and find your agents, Pyramid schemes risk is not a new thing in Sri Lanka.

Well said. they wouldn't even disclose it in their tax returns if there is any. CBSL did warn several times about these pyramid schemes in general and also identified their name in later stages. These photos worth including in the school books as the result of greed.

Very sorry guys. Government has warned everyone about these types of scams. Greed has put you all in this mess. Government or tax payers cannot help your idiotic actions. Wait till the case being settled in court.

I feel very sorry about these people. But they are solely responsible for their losses. They lost sense over the taste of greediness. From decades we hear repeated reminders from the CBSL not to invest/save in these type of shady financial establishments.
