Largest marine plastic stock recycled

Plastic waste and plastic nurdles collected during the year-long coastal clean-up operation following the MSC ELSA 3 maritime disaster are prepared for recycling at the Central Waste Storage Facility in Sethapola, Puttalam. The operation, carried out by the Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA), also removed decades of accumulated marine debris from Sri Lanka's coastline.
