Turnover crosses Rs. 12bn



Indices closed in green as a result of price gains in counters such as Hatton National Bank, Sampath Bank and Commercial Bank with the turnover crossing Rs. 12.3 billion. 

High net worth and institutional investor participation was noted in Lee Hedges, Commercial Bank, Hatton National Bank. 

Mixed interest was observed in Wealthtrust Securities Limited, ACL Cables and Prime Lands Residencies whilst retail interest was noted in Lanka Credit and Business Finance, Maharaja Foods and Singhe Hospitals. 

Furthermore, foreigners closed as net sellers. Real Estate sector was the top contributor to the market turnover (due to Lee Hedges) whilst the sector index gained 2.51%. The share price of Lee Hedges increased by Rs. 23.00 (9.96%) to close at Rs. 254.00. 

The Banking sector was the second highest contributor to the market turnover (due to Commercial Bank and Hatton National Bank) whilst the sector index increased by 1.84%. The share price of Commercial Bank moved up by Rs. 3.50 (1.65%) to close at Rs. 216.00. 

The share price of Hatton National Bank recorded a gain of Rs. 8.50 (2.04%) to close at Rs. 426.00. Wealthtrust Securities Limited and ACL Cables were also included amongst the top turnover contributors. The share price of Wealthtrust Securities Limited gained Rs. 11.70 (167.14%) to close at Rs. 18.70. The share price of ACL Cables declined by Rs. 1.00 (0.98%) to close at Rs. 101.00.
