Indices closed in green as a result of price gains in counters such as Dialog Axiata, John Keells Holdings and Hayleys with the turnover crossing Rs. 2.7bn.
High net worth and institutional investor participation was noted in Commercial Bank, Singer Sri Lanka and Hatton National Bank nonvoting.
Mixed interest was observed in Commercial Credit & Finance, Digital Mobility Solutions Lanka and Haycarb whilst retail interest was noted in SMB Leasing, Industrial Asphalts and Ceylon Land & Equity.
Foreign participation in the market activity remained at subdued levels with foreigners closing as net sellers.
Materials sector was the top contributor to the market turnover (due to Samson International and Haycarb) whilst the sector index gained 1.86%. The share price of Samson International moved up by Rs. 13.50 (2.83%) to close at Rs. 490.00. The share price of Haycarb recorded a gain of Rs. 8.75 (5.59%) to close at Rs. 165.25.
Capital Goods sector was the second highest contributor to the market turnover whilst the sector index increased by 1.74%. Commercial Credit & Finance, Digital Mobility Solutions Lanka and Commercial Bank were also included amongst the top turnover contributors.
The share price of Commercial Credit & Finance decreased by Rs. 0.25 (0.21%) to close at Rs. 119.75. The share price of Digital Mobility Solutions Lanka gained Rs. 3.75 (2.21%) to close at Rs. 173.75. The share price of Commercial Bank appreciated by Rs. 0.50 (0.24%) to close at Rs. 209.00.
