SriLankan Airlines has launched a major recruitment drive to expand its cabin crew team, in line with its growth strategy, amid the rising passenger traffic and emerging markets, the national carrier said on Tuesday.
The campaign, announced through a public call for applications, attracted nearly 12,000 aspiring candidates, the airline said in a statement. The shortlisted applicants are now being invited to participate in the next stage of the recruitment process, scheduled from May 20-23, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Colombo.
“We are seeking individuals who embody the spirit of Sri Lanka and are passionate about providing world-class service to our valued passengers.
That’s why we follow a transparent and thorough recruitment and selection process, not just to ensure fairness to all hopeful applicants but also to choose individuals who are truly cut out for the role,” said SriLankan Airlines Group Head of Human Resources Susan Jacob.
The airline said it is preparing for a surge in passenger numbers as global travel rebounds, underscoring the need to reinforce its frontline crew.
“This makes it important for the airline to strengthen its cabin crew team, not only to uphold its award-winning service standards but also to meet the regulatory minimum crew requirements for operating both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft,” it said.
SriLankan Airlines has been steadily expanding its international footprint, with a focus on enhancing connectivity and service standards across its network.
