The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) & Sri Lanka Embassy in Japan, announced the successful completion of Sri Lanka’s participation at Japan IT Week Spring 2025, held from April 23–25 at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan.
Under the vibrant “Sri Lanka Pavilion,” ten leading Sri Lankan ICT companies showcased cutting-edge innovations spanning AI, IoT, software development, and IT services. Their presence attracted strong attention from global investors, technology leaders, and business partners, positioning Sri Lanka firmly on the international tech map. The participation marks a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between EDB and JICA, launched in 2024 to strengthen Sri Lanka’s ICT sector presence in Japan.
The JICA programme supports 30 ICT/BPM companies, including SMEs and startups, through tailored business coaching, strategic market intelligence, and targeted matchmaking with Japanese partners. Ten out of the 30 companies were selected for participation in 2025.
“This participation at one of Asia’s most prominent technology exhibitions has not only expanded the international footprint of Sri Lanka’s ICT sector but also reinforced bilateral ties between Sri Lanka and Japan in the digital economy,” the EDB said.
