Powers secure, context-aware AI apps and agents built on conversational data
Slack, a Salesforce company, announced the next evolution of its platform — enabling developers and partners to build secure, context-aware AI apps and agents powered by conversational data.
With the introduction of a real-time search (RTS) API and Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, Slack provides flexible and enterprise-grade access to customer-owned conversational data, transforming the way organisations use AI to drive productivity.
Thousands of companies are racing to build AI agents, yet most lack the critical context that makes them useful in daily workflows. Slack bridges this gap by unlocking conversational data — the richest source of context within organisations — to deliver AI that is relevant, accurate and human-centric.
Leading innovators including Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, Writer, Dropbox, Notion, Cognition Labs, Vercel and Cursor are already developing new AI apps and agents on the enhanced Slack platform, available in the Slack Marketplace. By securely integrating conversational data, these partners are bringing intelligence directly into the flow of work, helping teams make faster decisions and reducing context switching across applications.
“The future of work is undeniably agentic and the success of AI depends on its seamless integration into human workflows,” said Slack CEO Denise Dresser.
“Our latest innovations create the secure, data-rich environment necessary for AI agents to become trusted companions in the enterprise.”
The new RTS API and MCP server are currently in closed beta, with general availability planned for early 2026. Partner-built AI agents are available now in the Slack Marketplace, marking a significant step toward the agentic enterprise era, where humans and AI collaborate seamlessly.
