The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) marked its 38th anniversary this week, with a ceremonial market opening at the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE).
SEC Chairman Senior Professor Hareendra Dissabandara rang the opening bell to signal the milestone, joined by the senior officials of the SEC and CSE.
Since its establishment in 1987, the SEC has played a pivotal role in regulating, developing and protecting Sri Lanka’s capital market, upholding the principles of fairness, transparency and investor confidence.
The ceremony celebrated nearly four decades of investor empowerment and market integrity, reaffirming the SEC’s commitment to a robust and trusted financial ecosystem.
