SEC rings bell on 38 years of investor empowerment

The SEC has not displayed its commitment towards protecting the rights and interests of retail investors as due to its circulars issued to listed companies on the method of holding AGM's or EGM's post pandemic any company is empowered by the SEC to hold these meetings either physical or on-line without specifying reasons to hold on,-line meetings thereby preventing broader participation of shareholders and the SEC should restore the status-quo to pre-pandemic levels if it is genuinely committed to upholding the principles of fairness transparency and investor confidence.
