Sri Lanka’s construction industry took centre stage on Friday as President Anura Kumara Dissanayake visited Build SL Housing and Construction International Exhibition 2025, the sector’s largest annual trade event, held at the BMICH in Colombo.

Organised by the Chamber of Construction Industry of Sri Lanka (CCI), the 20th edition of the exhibition featured nearly 280 product stalls and is expected to draw over 30,000 visitors.

The event highlighted a range of offerings, from advanced building technologies to internationally recognised eco-friendly construction materials.

Dissanayake toured the exhibition on Friday, engaging with the exhibitors and attendees.

He also presented tokens of appreciation to the sponsoring institutions and held discussions with industry representatives.

The exhibition serves as a platform for stakeholders to explore business opportunities, foster partnerships and gain exposure to evolving design and technology trends in the sector.

Senior officials from the Urban Development, Construction and Housing Ministry, along with industry leaders and former CCI chairmen, were also present.
