The Project Management Institute Sri Lanka Chapter (PMI SL) hosted the National PMI Conference 2025 and the National PMI Excellence Awards (NPMEA) 2025 on October 24 at The Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo.
The dual event gathered widespread attention as the largest project management gathering in the country this year.
More than 300 professionals from over 100 organisations participated in the conference, engaging in rich knowledge sharing, leadership discussions, and future-focused project management practices. Strengthening its commitment to responsible leadership, PMI SL delivered Sri Lanka’s first carbon-neutral conference and awards event, paving the way for sustainable event execution in the country.
The evening culminated in the National PMI Excellence Awards, honouring 350+ winners from 50 plus leading organisations that demonstrated exceptional performance in project excellence, innovation, and delivery outcomes. In a historic moment for the profession, PMI SL introduced “The Project Manager” award for the first time in Sri Lanka, recognising project leaders who drive progress, national development, and societal impact.
This year’s celebration also marked a major milestone in the journey of PMI SL as the chapter commemorates 20 years of elevating project leadership in Sri Lanka. Over two decades, the chapter has grown into a thriving community of professionals dedicated to raising standards in project delivery, capability building, and ethical leadership.
