Niroshan Udage to take helm at LB Finance as Adhihetty exits role

LB Finance PLC has appointed Niroshan Udage as its new Managing Director, effective July 01, following the resignation of J.A.S.S. Adhihetty after nearly two decades in leadership.

Udage, who joined LB Finance in 2004 and currently serves as Deputy Managing Director, will assume the top post after a brief interim period as Managing Director-Designate from June 12 to June 30. 

The appointment received the regulatory clearance from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

He succeeds Adhihetty, who will step down as Managing Director on June 30 and remain on the board as Executive Director until July 03.

With over 34 years of experience in Sri Lanka’s financial services sector, Udage previously held roles at Lanka ORIX Leasing Company and Mercantile Investments before joining LB Finance. He has served on the board since 2007 and has held key leadership roles, including General Manager Asset Finance and Deputy Managing Director.

Udage holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from the University of Colombo and has undergone executive training at Harvard Business School and institutions in Dublin and London. 

He also serves on the boards of LB Microfinance Myanmar and the Finance Houses Association of Sri Lanka.
