The International Gem and Jewellery Exhibition serves as a platform to showcase the rich gem heritage of Ratnapura to the world. After the success of the inaugural event in 2024 at the Grand Silver Hotel, preparations are underway for the second edition, to be held on August 15, 16, and 17 at the same venue.

The exhibition will bring together leading gem traders from Ratnapura, gem cutting and polishing companies, jewelry manufacturers and retailers, industry related machinery and equipment providers, gem testing and Jewellery testing laboratory services and training institutions in gem and jewellery fields.

The exhibition will display a spectacular range of gemstones such as Blue Sapphire, Padparadscha, Pink Sapphire, Orange Sapphire, Green Sapphire, Violet Sapphire, Yellow Sapphire, Chrysoberyl Cat’s Eye, Alexandrite Cat’s Eye, Star Sapphire, and Tourmaline, along with Topaz, Garnet, Amethyst, Citrine, Ametrine, Quartz, Aquamarine, and imported gems like Spinel, Tsavorite, and Tanzanite.

With over 80 exhibition stalls, the event offers equal opportunity for major exporters, SMEs, and emerging entrepreneurs. Awareness programs and industry knowledge-sharing sessions will also be conducted alongside the exhibition.

Adding to its international appeal, embassies and foreign missions, with the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Department of Commerce, are organizing trade delegations. The Thai Gem and Jewellery Association, led by its President and Secretary, has confirmed participation. Delegations from China, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Europe have also confirmed their attendance.
