  • Platform to boost exam performance

IGCSE Buddy, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered exam preparation platform by Tutopiya, the online learning provider trusted by over 100,000 students across eight countries, will integrate with schools across Sri Lanka as part of its ‘GoGlobal: Sri Lanka’ initiative, to help drive academic success.

Recently implemented at Leeds International School, IGCSE Buddy will support 181 students and 36 teachers in preparing for the competitive Pearson Edexcel IGCSE and A-level board exams in May and June 2025. With 14 branches nationwide, Leeds International School is GoGlobal’s first Sri Lankan partner and the first to benefit from the platform’s extensive toolkit and highly personalised approach.

“We have been following new developments in edtech that can support academic excellence as our students prepare for exams,” said Leeds International School Director Malithi Jayatissa.

“IGCSE Buddy is a game changer for students. It identifies learning gaps and leverages AI to help bridge them. We have witnessed a 30-40 percent improvement in exam grades on average as students leverage the platform,” said Tutopiya founder Nuha Ghouse. “It also equips teachers and school administrators with custom tools to ensure overall academic rigour and a well-prepared exam cohort for success.”

The platform provides a timely solution for the pressure that schools, students and parents face in the lead-up to competitive exams such as the IGCSEs and IALs. Many schools in Sri Lanka face challenges in recruiting experienced teachers trained in the Cambridge and Edexcel curricula, constrained by limited resources and overstretched by extensive syllabuses, leading for the system to fall back on expensive tuition services.

Unlike standard exam preparation platforms, IGCSE Buddy offers personalised insights with AI-powered tools. It assesses the student’s strengths and weaknesses using an advanced diagnostic tool and develops a personalised study plan to bridge any gaps in learning.
