A high-profile German business delegation led by the German Asia Pacific Business Association, which visited Sri Lanka during last week to explore trade and investment opportunities, held talks with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC).
“In the recent times, we have seen increasing interest in Sri Lanka by German businessmen. We are not only looking at big countries like India, but also smaller nations like Sri Lanka,” said delegation head Thomas Kriwat during the discussions with the CCC officials.
In response, CCC CEO Dhara Wijayatilake welcomed the delegation and highlighted the opportunities available within the country to invest in business ventures. “There is an increasing focus on doing business with overseas partners and Sri Lanka offers a conducive environment for that purpose,” she said.

The German business delegation included representatives from companies such as EFC Induction Private Limited, M. The delegation also consisted of representatives from the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, Indo German Chamber of Commerce, German Asia Pacific Business Association and The German Sri Lanka Business Council.
CCC Deputy Secretary General Alikie Perera and CCC Senior Assistant Secretary Generals Lilakshi De Mel and Ayoni Waniganayake also attended the meeting held at the CCC.
