In a significant move to support Sri Lanka’s public health infrastructure, Godrej Sri Lanka has donated a Peet-Grady chamber—a specialised entomological research facility, to the Medical Research Institute (MRI) in Colombo.

This contribution will empower the MRI to conduct advanced studies in vector control, particularly targeting mosquito-borne illnesses like dengue and malaria.

The Peet-Grady chamber allows researchers to simulate real-world conditions in a controlled environment to assess the effectiveness of insecticides and study mosquito behaviour. This facility is considered essential for improving the country’s scientific response to disease outbreaks.

The donation reflects Godrej’s continued commitment to the health and safety of Sri Lankan families. Through its widely trusted insecticide brands—Goodknight and HIT—Godrej has consistently focused on combating mosquito-borne diseases and promoting preventive healthcare.

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd Head of SAARC Business Samir Suryawanshi commented, “At Godrej, we believe that our purpose extends beyond products to meaningful community impact. This investment is a testament to our long-standing partnership with Sri Lanka and our belief in the power of science and innovation to drive public health outcomes. We’re proud to support the MRI in its critical mission.”

Godrej Sri Lanka Country Head Dileepa Gregory added, “For decades, Godrej has been part of Sri Lankan households through our brands Goodknight and HIT. This initiative is another step in our journey to help create a safer, healthier nation. We are committed to continuing this legacy with purpose-led investments that make a real difference.”
