Sri Lankan manufacturer and distributor of vinyl flooring, Global Vinyl Ltd., has begun exporting its products to luxury resorts in the Maldives. The move is part of a broader strategy to take locally produced, SGS-certified vinyl flooring to international markets.

Global Vinyl Ltd., Export Manager Winter Alexander observed that the demand for vinyl flooring has risen globally as a modern, technologically advanced alternative to wooden flooring. He noted that luxury villas and resorts, boutiques, offices and even homes are increasingly turning to this option.

“We are exporting our SPC vinyl flooring to high-end luxury resorts in the Maldives at present. We are also in discussions with other buyers in the region and will soon commence exports to those countries as well,” he said.

Alexander added that vinyl flooring offers the rich appearance of wood without the high cost. “Not only is it aesthetically appealing, but it is also quick to install, easy to remove and replace, more affordable than wood, durable, waterproof, termite-proof and does not require the maintenance associated with traditional wooden flooring,” he said.

He further explained that the company obtained the SGS certification as part of its commitment to maintaining international standards and building confidence among both local and foreign buyers.

In recognition of its position as Sri Lanka’s pioneer manufacturer and distributor of vinyl flooring, Global Vinyl Ltd., received an award of excellence for its SPC flooring under the Annual Product Award Scheme conducted by the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects in 2026.”

As a pioneer in the local market, Global Vinyl Ltd. offers a range of wood and stone-inspired flooring solutions for indoor and outdoor use. GFloor provides two installation systems: SPC Flooring, a click-lock system that securely holds planks in place, and LVT Flooring, which is pasted directly onto the floors, walls or even kitchen backsplashes. Produced from a combination of limestone and PVC, vinyl flooring is waterproof and termite-proof, making it a practical choice for both residential and commercial spaces.
