GS Sports, a leading provider of end-to-end fitness solutions in Sri Lanka and part of George Steuart Health, marked its fifth anniversary with a commemorative event held on 29 April at its flagship showroom in Colombo 3.
The milestone reflects five years of steady growth, technical expertise, and a sustained commitment to strengthening fitness infrastructure across the country.
Established in 2021 under the George Steuart Group, Sri Lanka’s oldest mercantile establishment founded in 1835, GS Sports has grown into a specialized provider of comprehensive fitness equipment and system solutions. The company serves a diverse range of needs, from home fitness setups to fully equipped commercial gymnasiums in corporate offices, residential developments, and dedicated fitness centers.
With a strong focus on technical capability and solution-based delivery, GS Sports has built its reputation on delivering tailored fitness infrastructure across both public and private sector projects, including large-scale and institutional installations.
Through partnerships with internationally recognised brands such as Yanre Fitness, BH Fitness, Finlo, and Gymin, GS Sports has introduced advanced global fitness technology to the Sri Lankan market. The company continues to expand its presence through its flagship showrooms in Colombo 03 and Madiwela, supported by growing demand for reliable, high-performance fitness solutions.
Commenting on the milestone, Sanjiva Wijesekera, Executive Director of George Steuart Health, stated,“Over the past five years, GS Sports has built a strong foundation within Sri Lanka’s evolving fitness landscape. Our focus has been on developing capability, introducing global standards, and enabling access to high-quality fitness infrastructure across segments. As we move forward, we remain committed to strengthening this ecosystem and contributing to a culture that values health, performance, and long-term wellbeing.”
GS Sports builds on the broader legacy of George Steuart Health, which has played a pioneering role in sports-related healthcare in Sri Lanka, including the development of gymnasium facilities within sports medicine units at major hospitals. This foundation continues to shape the company’s approach to supporting both performance and overall wellbeing.
As it marks its fifth year, GS Sports continues to strengthen its role in supporting Sri Lanka’s growing fitness culture, working across sectors to deliver the expertise and infrastructure needed to meet evolving demand.
