The total auction offerings remained around last and totalled 5.4 million kilogrammes (M/Kgs), of which the Ex-Estate offerings comprised of 0.75 M/Kgs.
There was fair demand.
In the Ex-Estate catalogue, the Best Western BOPs – a few select invoices, were firm and up to Rs.20 per kilogramme dearer, whilst the others were irregular mostly following quality.
The corresponding BOPFs too had a few select invoices, which were firm and dearer, whilst the others declined by Rs.20-40 per kilogramme. In the Below Best category, a few select BOP invoices appreciated by Rs.20 per kilogramme, whilst the others were irregular and lower by a similar margin.
The corresponding BOPFs – the teas in the higher price bracket, were barely steady, whilst the others declined by Rs.20 per kilogramme and more. At the lower end, the BOPs mostly declined by up to Rs.20 per kilogramme, whilst the corresponding BOPFs were generally firm.
The Nuwara Eliyas continued sluggish with many unsold teas. The Uda Pussellawa BOPs declined by Rs.50 per kilogramme and more, whilst the corresponding BOPFs were firm and Rs.20 per kilogramme dearer. The Uva BOPs declined by up to Rs.50 per kilogramme, whilst the corresponding BOPFs sold around last.
