Factory work in Gampaha dist. to continue unhindered despite curfew: BOI

• Says work at Katunayaka, Biyagama, Wathupitiwala, Malwatta and Mirigama EPZs to continue
• BOI-registered factories located outside zones will also continue operations 
• Says issuing required curfew passes as per instructions on BOI website

The Board of Investment (BOI) yesterday said the operations of the BOI industries located within the Gampaha district would be carried out without any interruption during the curfew-imposed period. 

The functions of the companies in the Katunayaka, Biyagama, Wathupitiwala, Malwatta and Mirigama Export Processing Zones (EPZs) are expected to continue production while strictly adhering to the guidelines issued by the Health Ministry. 

In addition to the above zones, the BOI-registered factories located outside the zones too will also 
function accordingly.

The BOI said it is in the process of issuing the required curfew passes, as per the instructions on the 
BOI website.
