Emirates targets full network restoration within days as flights resume

Emirates yesterday said it is gradually restoring the flight operations after the partial reopening of the regional airspace, with the airline expecting to return to its full global network within the coming days, subject to operational conditions.

The Dubai-based carrier said it is currently operating a reduced schedule while working to stabilise its network following the disruptions linked to the recent Middle East situation.

“Following the partial reopening of the regional airspace, Emirates is operating a reduced flight schedule while working to restore the full network operations,” the airline said in a statement yesterday, adding that it anticipates a return to 100 percent of its network “within the coming days, subject to the airspace availability and fulfilment of all operational requirements”.

The airline said it carried around 30,000 passengers out of Dubai on Thursday, as the operations gradually resumed.

By March 7, Emirates expects to operate 106 return daily flights to 83 destinations, representing almost 60 percent of its global route network.

The carrier said it has scaled up capacity in several high-demand markets, particularly in the United Kingdom, where it will operate 11 daily flights across five airports.

Flights to India are also being increased, with the airline scaling up to 22 daily services, covering nine Indian gateways, while in the United States, it continues to operate to seven destinations, maintaining connectivity between the UAE and US.

Emirates said the customers with the existing bookings are being prioritised as flights resume and advised the travellers to proceed to the airport only if they have confirmed reservations.
