There can be a few greater joys than owning your own home. For three lucky Diva consumers, the first steps towards this ultimate dream were recently made a reality during the sixth edition of Diva’s ‘Idame Vasanawa’ competition.
Diva’s ‘Idame Vasanawa’ is celebrated as a mega consumer promotional campaign in the country designed to reward loyal consumers with valuable plots of land as gifts. The competition held during the past six years is an extremely popular and much looked forward to annual event among Diva consumers.
Organised annually by Hemas Manufacturing and Diva, a brand synonymous with changing the lives of customers for the better, the competition has presented a total of 19 valuable land plots as gifts during the past five years. More than 500 gold coins, cash rewards and other gifts have been presented as gifts during the duration of the competition.
Inaugurated in 2011, Diva consumers were invited to participate in ‘Ravumata Idamak’, a consumer promotion offering valuable land as gifts. This was continued in 2012 by a campaign titled ‘Nuwanakkariyanta Idamak’, which also rewarded consumers with land close to Colombo.
Today many people clamour to be a part of this competition and become a recipient of a life-changing gift such as winning their own land.
This year too, ‘Idame Vasanawa’ gifted the winners, three valuable land plots close to Colombo. During the period August to October, a lucky winner was drawn for this magnanimous prize each month. Consumers also stood a chance to win gold coins on a weekly basis and valuable cash prizes daily.
An overjoyed recipient who was selected as the winner for August and the promotion’s first land winner for 2016, Rohini Somasiri Hevaratne from Padukka, praising the competition said, “We have participated in this competitions since the second stage and yearly we had hopes of winning something but winning this land is unbelievable.
We currently live in the family home belonging to my husband’s brother. We were in dire need to own our own home. We have prayed to God for our needs. You have done a great thing by gifting this land to us.”
The winner for the month of September R.A. Nilanthi, from Nedimala, Mt. Lavinia was also speechless at winning her prize, a valuable land plot in Athurugiriya. She added, “I use Diva daily. I am truly happy that I have won this land, I cannot express my happiness. I am speechless.”
This year’s third winner was S. Dhammika Fernando. “I am a widow and did not want to go and live in the house I built with my husband as it holds too many sad memories for me. Last time I did not receive anything, this year I submitted an entry with a one kilo pack cover; I often dreamt it would be so wonderful if I too received a land and now my dream has come true. My husband must surely be looking down on us,” said Dhammika, full of emotion.
“It is a great joy to provide consumers with products that enrich their lives and ease their lifestyles. It is also a great pleasure to reward consumers with gifts that change their entire lives and enable them to make their dreams come true,” said Hemas Marketing Manager Fiona Munasinghe.
