Seeking to help our neighbourhood communities, Cargills Bank recently conducted a Beach Cleaning Program at the Dehiwala Beach. The project brought together over 80 team members from various areasof the bank who volunteered their time to clean the shoreline.
The initiative was a collaborative effort, organized in partnership with the Coastal Conservation Authority, the Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA), and the Dehiwala Municipal Council.
The beach clean-up sought to improve the environmentof the Dehiwala coastal stretch, while raising public awareness regarding responsible waste management and the critical need to protect marine ecosystems from pollution. The initiative is part of a broader program by the bank to build stronger communities, focusing on areas such as early education and the environment.
Speaking at the beach clean-up, Senarath Bandara, Managing Director/CEO of Cargills Bank, “My sincere appreciation to the team for carrying out this initiative, and the active participation in making this beach clean-up a success.
