Calico Colors launches EV initiative and carbon-free vision

Calico Colors (Pvt.) Ltd, one of Sri Lanka’s leading apparel trim manufacturers serving globally renowned brands, has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable manufacturing by launching a comprehensive environmental initiative that includes the introduction of electric vehicles (EVs) for its workforce and an ambitious vision to achieve carbon-free manufacturing by 2030.

As part of its sustainability roadmap, Calico Colors has unveiled its flagship environmental project ‘Green Village in Green Valley’ (Haritha Nimnayee Soduru Gammanaya), which aims to set new benchmarks in environmentally responsible manufacturing while promoting a culture of sustainable living among its employees 

and stakeholders.

In a significant step towards reducing its carbon footprint, Calico Colors has commenced the transition of junior staff vehicles to EVs. The initiative, undertaken in partnership with Hayleys Mobility, forms part of a broader strategy to adopt cleaner and greener transportation solutions while reducing dependence 

on fossil fuels. 

The company has announced plans to progressively expand the programme with the ultimate objective of transitioning all management and staff vehicles to environmentally friendly EVs, thereby creating a fully sustainable transportation network 

within the organisation.
