CSE names Dimuthu Abeyesekera as new Chairman

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has appointed Dimuthu Abeyesekera as Chairman of its board of directors, the bourse said yesterday.

He assumes duties as CSE Chief, succeeding Dilshan Wirasekara, who stepped down upon completing his tenure.

Abeyesekera, who has over 35 years of experience in capital markets, has been a member of the CSE board for the past six years. He is the Director and CEO of Asha Securities Ltd, affiliated with Phillip Capital Singapore, which manages over US$35 billion in assets globally.

He also serves as a Director at Asha Financial Services Ltd, a Colombo-based margin trading firm. Abeyesekera previously held roles as Chairman of the Colombo Stockbrokers Association and Chairman of Kalamazoo Systems PLC.
