Ban on social media lifted

The government yesterday lifted the ban on social media platforms intended to stop the spread of rumours following the Easter Sunday bombings.

The ban on platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Viber, YouTube and Instagaram has been lifted with immediate effect.

The security remains tight following the Easter Sunday attacks that killed over 250 people including 42 foreign nationals.
