Aviyana Hotels Group claims dual honours at SL Sustainability Awards 2025

The Aviyana Hotels Group, developer of Sri Lanka’s first seven-star hotel, has secured a notable double victory at the prestigious Sri Lanka Sustainability Awards (SSA) 2025. 

The group was recognised for its leadership in sustainable development and green construction practices within the tourism sector.

The awards were presented to Aviyana Hotels Group Chairman Dr. Tisara Hevawasam during a ceremony organised by the Chartered Institute of Builders Sri Lanka (CIOB). 

The event, held at Colombo Hilton Hotel, was conducted in partnership with the 13th World Construction Conference and featured academic contributions from the University of Moratuwa.

The dual accolade underscores Aviyana’s strategic commitment to integrating eco-friendly development with ultra-luxury hospitality. The group’s flagship project has been lauded for achieving rigorous sustainability benchmarks while elevating Sri Lanka’s profile as a high-end tourist destination.

The CIOB, the nation’s foremost professional body for the construction industry, praised Aviyana’s innovative approach to sustainable building and its role in promoting environmentally responsible tourism. The institute has a long-standing commitment to advancing green practices, innovation and excellence in construction through international collaboration and policy advocacy.
