Sri Lankan sprinter Yupun Abeykoon finished second in the Men's 100m final at the Meeting Citta'Di Savona in Italy, clocking a time of 10.01 seconds.
Abeykoon, who last year became the first Sri Lankan to run the 100m in less than 10 seconds, finished behind Reece Prescod of Great Britain, who clocked 9.94 seconds.
Filippo Tortu, who was part of Italy's Olympic Gold Medal winning Men's 4X100m team, finished in sixth.
Abeykoon clocked 10.04 secs in the heats, finishing second behind Benjamin Azamati of Ghana.
The Savona meet was Abeykoon's first 100m events for the year, and he is scheduled to take part in the Florence Diamond League meet next Friday (June 2).

Take a leaf from Hussain Bolt who never rested on his laurels but kept on surpassing his timings by continously working hard because he very well knew that unless this was done someone from the blue will capitalize on one's popularity which leaves loopholes for another to outsmart him. Attitude should be maintained at all costs by benchmarking the top runners timings

Keep on going.Hope the sports ministry will pick up on this and start training you to international standards.Lets diversify and support our athletes rather than concentrating on one sport which is not giving desired results.
