Two relatives of Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe were also part of the non- Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) contingent that travelled to Australia for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup last year with letters from SLC, sources claimed.

A draft of the Auditor General's report following a special audit into the T20 World Cup expenditure of SLC showed that 35 individuals who had no association with SLC had received letters for Australian visas from them.

The names of the two relatives did not appear on that list of 35 individuals, but Daily Mirror understands that they were also in fact part
of the contingent.

Daily Mirror reached out to Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe for a confirmation or denial but the Minister did not respond.

Sports Minister at that time must answer this issue. If he was involved he must resign from Parliament if he is a MP now. He is not fit to hold office. RW must adopt a hardline on these financial irregularities.

Hope these people did not attempt to stay behind because of the terrible living conditions in SL.

Initiate legal action to recover all costs from these unauthorised individuals, let them fight it out with the SLC officials individually.

Of course, this is a family business, as SLC for the last few decades has been run by Sumathi Pala's, Ranatunga's, Dharmadasa's etc. Why should they or Ministers not enjoy the team's performance at the boards expense. This is why people do politics not to serve but to be served with the perks.

Investigate on this matter and if so, the Minister of Sports should be fair enough to return the entire cost back to SLCB without any further delay.

Mr. Minister, before you spoil your reputation, please return the cost of your family members spent on ICC men's T20 Tournament and prove your honesty.

SLCB money had been wasted very badly by all the existing members and even the sports minister taking his relations to Australia for T20 World cup last year. What a curse ..... this money is the public hard-earned money !!!

SLC funds were misused by all the past Presidents and their families. Going to Australia only the Auditor general has found up to now. What about buying vehicles and apartments in Srilanka and abroad. Set of thiefs running the SLC
