Basil off to India to seek financial assistance

Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa and Secretary to the Ministry S.R. Attygalle left for India today to seek a USD 1 billion line of credit (LoC).

Earlier, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a virtual meeting with Basil where the two ministers reviewed the progress in extending the Indian credit facility of USD 1 billion for importing food, essential items and medicine.

Minister Basil was also accompanied by his wife Pushpa Rajapaksa on the official visit.
