Activists leave Galle Face protest site

Actress and GotaGoGama activist Damitha Abeyratne said today that they have decided to vacate from the Galle Face protest site.

However, speaking to the media she said that the Aragalaya was not over.

"Though we have physically left the Galle Face, the Aragalaya is very organized. Remember that we are ready to rise again against any corrupt politicians," she said.

Today marks 123 days to the Galle Face protest site and some activits were seen removing the tents from the site.

High time!! That beautifully landscaped section of Galle Face now looks like a shanty-filled pig sty!! It's a violation of the fundamental rights of other citizens who want to use this area. Protest sites should not infringe on the rights of other citizens of the country.

Great achievement, first in Sri Lanka. This is a lesson for all those corrupted politicians and a warning to all those aspiring bogus leaders. No violence, No weapons; It's a show of unity and power. Everyone understood the message. May be this is the power of educated/civilized youth. They showed every one that Aragalaya is not just Banner and slogan, but a principle.
