Zoo staff want jumbo dance back

Employees of Dehiwela Zoological Garden today staged a protest near the Zoological Garden urging the administration to restart elephant performances which were halted due to the bad health condition of the elephants.

Protesters claimed that the veterinarians were corrupt and they should be removed from the Zoological garden.

However, rejecting the claims, the Zoo administration said it could not allow restarting performances as the elephants were believed to be infected with tuberculosis (TB). Elephant performances were halted last Monday.
