Welipenna exit point on the Southern Expressway is temporarily closed due to flooding of the Aluthgama- Mathugama road, Ministry of Highways said.

Motorists are advised to use Dodangoda exit point.

how come ? didn't the engineers take the Monsoon Rains into consideration and didn't they know that modifying the geography would cause flooding in such low land areas......
