Water levels of Gin, Kalu, Nilwala rivers rising

The water levels of Gin Ganga, Kalu Ganga and the Nilwala Ganga are rising rapidly and the people living in the low lying areas close to these rivers are adviced to exercise caution, the Irrigation Department has warned.
Several areas in the Galle and Kalutara districts, including Yakkalamulla and Imaduwa-Yakkalamulla road have been flooded due to the continuous fain fall.
The Welipenna entrance and exit on the Southern Expressway is underwater since last night.
