Based on incoming election results, UNP Gampaha District candidate John Amaratunga today predicted Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe would be able to form a strong UNP government.

He said the UNP had won the Gampaha electorate for first time at a general election since 2001. “We intend to keep our promises and develop the country as well as the district,” he said.
