In another case of election violence, a UNP aide was stabbed during an altercation with some UPFA supporters at the Yala junction in Anguruwatota last night, police said.
The victim, Malith Kahatapitiya, is the son of Kithsiri Kahatapitiya, who is Secretary to UNP National Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe.
He was admitted to the Horana Base Hospital and transferred to Colombo National Hospital for further treatment.
One suspect from the Kosgoda area was arrested in connection with the incident. (Nimali Kahawala)
