Two youth killed in road tragedy

Two people including a woman were killed and another motorcyclist was injured when two motorcycles collided with a lorry at Koralawella in Moratuwa on the Panadura- Colombo main road this morning, the Police said.

Police said the accident occurred while the motorcycle travelling towards Panadura attempted to overtake a bus when a lorry travelling towards Colombo collided head-on.

Those killed were a 16-year-old girl and a 20-year-old boy. They were residents of Moratuwa and had died on admission to the Lunawa Hospital. The motorcyclist who was seriously injured was rushed to the Colombo National Hospital.

Moratuwa police arrested the lorry driver.(DS)
