Two killed in Paranthan

Two young men had been killed when the motorcycle they were riding on crashed against a tipper truck at Paranthan junction a while ago, the Kilinochchi Police said.

The Police said that the accident occurred when the motorcycle attempted to overtake the tipper truck.  The motorcycle collided with a tipper truck and had fell on to the road and another tipper ran over them, the Police said.

The deceased had been identified as Sivanandarajah James Nelson (25) from Rasaveethi, Kopay and Udayarasa Vidushan (21).

The drivers of the trucks were taken into custody by the Kilinochchi Police. The Kilinochchi Police are investigating.
