This is bad for tourism. The issue could have been handled more diplomatically. Also, foreign missions should be notified that sri lanka doesn't entertain such tourists. The image created overseas on this issue doesn't augur well for sri lanka.

I feel ashamed of what happened this tourist. A practicing woman with a tattoo on hand is something we should have admired instead of punishing. Very bad approach and punishment. If something like this happens to me in another country, I would never visit that place again.

I think we have mix up personal thgs with social , we should have look it at diffrent angle cz most of europeans and rest of the world have a tatoo cz they like it so much, it means to them lot , unlike srilankans ll have a tatoo cz somone got it or its cool to have a tatoo, thtz our culture not their :(
