what ar u talking?& what's wrong with ppl going in to other areas of studies. We need smart ppl in every other filed. we need smart scientist, Engineers, Accountant., if smart ppl in our country only become physicians what would happen to our country. We only need limited number of physicians, engineers scientist and so on. If we don't put a limit some other field will not get smart ppl bcz of our culture.we still in colonial mind set ,and go after colonial jobs.I still remember 1of my frnd who got 3A's and an island rank (in top ten spot) instead of going to medical faculty went to science bcz he want to become a scientist. in that old some of student of our thought he's crazy .that becoz our metality. very few ppl like him are here in sri lanka. Others just go fallow traditions blind fully so therefore we have to make limitation in number of seats available in unis

I think the difference is that the standards of medicine need to be higher because they are dealing with human lives.
Malabe never got proper approval. it was started without even a teaching hospital

Sena do you think Bangladesh Ukraine Georgia student get good training. However PMC Malabe Hospital is open for some basic clinical, only thing the student may delay. "The baby is born still he cannot stand at the moment". Do not try to abolish this kind of Medical Collage this will be benefited for the whole nation.

So called PMC have no qualified permanant academic staff to teach, no practicle training as there is no teaching hospital, curriculam is not clinical oriented, but finally these students will get a 'medical degree' according to the way it is goind on. Do you like to be a victim of a person seemingly doctor but having no qualification.

Then how can world’s best ranking Medical schools are private ones e.g. Harvard, john Hopkins, Yale , Stanford,. Private r public doesn’t mean anything. Important thing is quality of education. As long as they provide good education

How come then other countries could do it successfully and we cannot ? what we are lacking than other countries ? Does death rate of patients is higher globally in countries providing private education in field of Medicine?

Yes we need private medical schools in Sri lanka but the quality & standards have to be maintained.
This medical school has been recruiting, taking money & training students for the last 5 years without a teaching hospital which is a joke.
It is like having a swimming school without a swimming pool !!
