The SLFP today decided to remove all SLFP Local Government body members who have voted to defeat budgets of UPFA controlled LG’s from their posts with immediate effect, General Secretary of the SLFP Maithripala Sirisena said.

Minister Sirisena added that all errant PS members would be served with show-cause notices and they would never be appointed to any local government position hereafter.

The filling of vacancies including the chairman and deputy chairman posts would be filled only from among those who voted supporting the budgets, he said.\

“This is a serious matter and those members have acted against the party guidelines and instructions of the party chief, President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Therefore, those who voted against the budgets will be strictly dealt with,” he added. (Sandun A. Jayasekera)

How interesting. The PC member can murder, rape and rob and no action is taken even with international pressure. If they go against the party, they are removed. What ethics?

This is one solution but going to a Dictatorship as a by product. See the far and not the short. Let the good governance effect and members support for good cause and not the Power Hungry Executives.

At least these budget defeats showed that there is some resistance to the capture of the SLFP by the Brothers Company and the true SLFPers at grass root level resent the dictator-like attitude of their current leaders.
