Sinhala & Tamil versions of LLRC report to be released



The Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) report has been translated into Sinhala and Tamil and the printed versions will soon be available to the public, the External Affairs Ministry said.

The Ministry in a statement said, “The translation of the whole text of the LLRC Report, into Sinhala and Tamil, undertaken and completed by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, was handed over by Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal, to  External Affairs Minister G.L. Peiris and President's Secretary  Lalith Weeratunga at the External Affairs Ministry.”

It also said: “This was one of the priority steps identified by the Committee, functioning under the Presidential Secretariat and headed by Mr. Weeratunga, to co-ordinate and supervise the implementation of the LLRC Report in accordance with a decision by the Cabinet of Ministers. The government has ordered the printing of the translations on a priority basis, and the printed versions will soon be available to the public.”
