Video: Sajin gave 'heli' to film and not to save - Wijeyadasa
The UNP today said UPFA MP Sajin Vass Gunewardhena had declined to help fishermen affected by the adverse weather condition mid sea off the coast of Balapitya few days ago.
UNP MP Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe told the news conference that MP Gunewardhena owned a helicopter which he had given to a media institution on rent instead of using it to rescue victims who were distraught in mid sea.
He alleged that MP Gunewardhena of not lending his helicopters to rescue fishermen.
“Fishermen had requested Mr. Gunewardhena to send one of his private helicopters to rescue the fishermen. However, he had not heeded to this request as he had given his helicopter to a media institute on a rent of Rs. 65,000 per an hour,” the MP said. (LSP, YP)
