Russian couple arrested on expressway

A Russian couple was arrested by the Southern Expressway traffic police for travelling on a motor bike towards Colombo on the expressway near the 82nd mile post, police said
The couple had entered the expressway from an area where it was not open for the public and had travelled through the Pinnaduwa entrance by removing road barriers.
Police said the couple had been handed over to the Akmeemana police. They were later released on bail after being produced before the Galle Additional Magistrate.
Meanwhile, the owner of the motor bike had also been ordered to appear in courts on February 17 along with the couple.(By Darshana Sanjeewa)
