Video: Police team to probe Agalawatta attack

President Maithripala Sirisena has instructed the Police Chief to appoint a special team to investigate the assault at Agalawatta on Sunday morning and to take legal action against the miscreants.

UNP MP Palitha Thewarapperuma is alleged to have assaulted a Agalawatta Pradeshiya Sabha UPFA member after forcing him to kneel down.

Minister Rajitha Senaratne said the President had assured that the rule of law will be upheld with regard to the incident.

Once Mervyn tied a man to a tree but when the investigations started the story was the victim tied himself to the tree and Mervin escaped scott free. I think this story will end up like that. The victim becomes the DOER.
