PC killed after being run over by motor cyclist

A police constable attached to the Meegahawatte police was killed after being run over by a motor cyclist last night, Police said.

They said traffic policemen on duty at the Udupila Junction had signaled two men riding a motor cycle to stop but they had fled. The policemen had informed the Meegahawatte Police about the motor cycle.

The Police constable attached to the Meegahawatta Police was run over when he tried to stop the motor cyclist. He succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to hospital.

Police later arrested the two men who rode the motor cycle.(DS)

This is due to Policemen jumping in front of Motor cycles and other vehicles pushing their luck. They challange the vehicles with their lives which is stupid. via DM Android App

Today travelling out of Colombo cops all over the place. At one time cop darted across the road in front of car to stop a bike on the other side I tooted at him as I was shocked at his stupidity. via DM iPad app
