The employees of the FTZ held a protest yesterday too against the proposed pension scheme which the government has vowed to bring with amendments.    Later, MP Mrs. Sudarshani Fernandopulle, Mr. Lansa and other area politicians raised the matter with the President at a special meeting in Temple Trees.  (Kelum Bandara)

    No one want it!!!

Hon. Magodisas Monday, 30 May 2011 09:16 AM

    Make it optional to everybody.

    Banda Monday, 30 May 2011 09:19 AM

Let make the pension scheme optional. So those who see this as a good move can join in. This will force the gov to make the scheme attractive.

    goya Monday, 30 May 2011 09:20 AM

so now others should start protesting.....then can save their money from hora political ajendas....people don't need such a scheme...then why this government is trying to impose this on people...there should hidden reasons behind this...as Ranil said IMF ajenda.....i think working community in Colombo also should raise their voice....this is a unfair deal...people don't even earn sufficient money to run their day to day life...in the meantime government is trying to penalise their stomaches also?

    Roshan Monday, 30 May 2011 09:54 AM

Is the Govt worried about the strong protest by FTZ employees numbering more than 250,000.

This Pension Scheme is worse than Sakvithi's Scheme!

    Appu Monday, 30 May 2011 12:21 PM

I really don't know the details of this pension scheme but it seems like not benifiting people. Why government pressing so hard if people don't want it? Something is very fishy!
