Nauru's Foreign minister Kieren Keke said that Sri Lankan asylum seekers will have the right to appeal if their refugee claims are rejected. But Australia's human rights watchdog has questioned the capacity of Nauru's legal system to cope with the influx of asylum seekers.
A second batch of single men from Sri Lanka arrived in Nauru from Australia's Christmas Island detention centre yesterday.
The Pacific nation of Nauru has ruled also out accepting women and children asylum seekers detained by Australia until some modifications are made to the existing tent facilities on the island.
