The Mount Lavinia Police Special Investigations Unit yesterday arrested a man in the Thelawala area of Mount Lavinia for the possession of four foreign manufactured hand grenades.

 Another man who had been present at the time of arrest had fled from the scene but police say that initial questioning has revealed that he is also a resident of the same area.
 

Further interrogation has revealed that both men are wanted by the police in connection with a series of house breaks and robberies, numbering about 40, in the same area.
 

Mount Lavinia police is conducting further investigations. (RR)
