A 23-year-old individual has been arrested in connection with stealing a lottery ticket that has won Rs.500,000 in Anuradhapura yesterday.

Police said the suspect had assaulted the winner and stolen his lottery ticket on January 02.

Anuradhapura Police carried out investigations and arrested the suspect with the stolen ticket.

The suspect, a resident of Anuradhapura is to be produced before the Court today.
